Konica - Minolta
Konica Minolta Holdings hopes two heads are better than one. Created from the merger of Konica and Minolta, the company manufactures business and industrial imaging products. Its business line includes office copiers and laser printers. Its industrial operations produce optical lenses, textile printers, medical imaging equipment, and high-precision measurement instruments.
A leader in consumer photo imaging products for decades, Konica Minolta exited the camera business in 2006. The company is also phasing out its color film and paper supply operations.
Konica Minolta saw a major shift in its camera and photo businesses as the digital era gained momentum. As a result the firm drafted a plan to exit its camera and photo operations in 2005. Despite holding leading mechanical, optical, and electronic technologies, the company found it difficult to roll out competitive products.
Its now basically a printer company
